05 May 3 Life Questions for your Sabbatical
Here are three questions from Dr. Phil’s book “Life Code”. I have not read the book yet, but listened to the podcast and will be writing my answers to them in my planner/journal.
- What am I doing in my life that’s working?
- What do I need to stop doing that’s getting in the way of what I want?
- What do I need to start doing that will empower me or change the game for me?
Easy to answer? Not for me! I find it challenging sometimes to look deep and be honest with myself. I’ve been trained to stay closer to the surface and write out my answers that are more “acceptable” to others. “Truths” (but they aren’t) that put on out a good image, even if no one else will see what I’ve written…I still catch myself trying to lie to myself. Self care for me is digging into the shadow side of my ego, and loving those aspects as much as I can.
Taking consciously dedicated time to think about these questions, and your answers could point you to what you need to focus on while on Sabbatical. This exercise might help you decide you need to change trajectory or maybe it’ll let you realize that you’ve done the work and are on the right path.
Should these questions be reviewed regularly? I think so…how will you work on that?
